Planning a trip into the heart of the Maloti Mountains requires preparation. We've gathered
the most common queries to help you prepare for Maletsunyane Braai
Festival.
Still have questions?
Our team is ready to help you with specific
requests.
Upon arrival at Semonkong, head to the designated Lapeng Welcome Center. Our team
will verify your booking, issue your festival wristbands (if included in your
package), and escort you directly to your pre-pitched tent.
How do you handle extreme
mountain weather?
Lesotho's weather is unpredictable. Our "Highlander" and "VIP" tents are made from
heavy-duty, weather-sealed canvas designed to withstand high winds and rain. We also
provide extra ground insulation to keep out the mountain chill.
Is there security for our
belongings?
Yes. The Lapeng campsite is a restricted zone with 24/7 security patrols. While we
recommend keeping high-value items on your person, each tent is equipped with
heavy-duty zippers that can be padlocked for your peace of mind.
What essentials should I bring?
Even with our VIP bedding, we recommend bringing a warm Basotho blanket or a heavy
jacket for the evenings. Don't forget a power bank (if not in a VIP tent),
comfortable hiking boots, and a flashlight for night-time navigation.
